At Kol Ami, Jewish life doesn’t stop after B’nai Mitzvah – it evolves, deepens, and grows. Our teens stay connected through leadership, learning, social action, and community.
Our youth group for Grades 8-12 is one of the most vibrant in the GTA. Affiliated with NFTY, TAKAY teens plan and lead their own programs, build friendships, and engage in tikkun olam through meaningful social action. Events range from game nights to Shabbatons to volunteer projects – and everything in between!
Junior Youth Group
Younger students don’t miss out – our junior youth programs bring kids in Grades 5-7 together for fun, friendship, and community building in a Jewish context.
Every Shabbat morning, our teens help bring our Hebrew School to life. As Madrichim (student leaders and assistants), they serve as role models and mentors in the classroom. They also participate in engaging, age-appropriate discussions and learning – exploring Jewish values, grappling with big questions, and connecting Jewish wisdom to teen life.
And yes, volunteering as a Madrich (plural: Madrichim) can count towards high school volunteer hours. In Ontario, students need 40 hours of community involvement to graduate high school. Madrichim programs, where high school students mentor or assist in educational settings, are often recognized as eligible volunteer activities.
At Kol Ami, our teens know that it’s okay to ask, to doubt, and to grow. We give them the space to do all three – together.
