About Kol Ami

A Community of Voices

Kol Ami means “voice of my people,” and that’s exactly what we are – a warm, welcoming community where voices come together in prayer, learning, celebration, and support.

Serving southern York Region and northern Toronto, Kol Ami is a spirited Reform congregation rooted in family, inclusivity, and lifelong Jewish connection.

Our vibrant community embraces:

  • Joyful Shabbat services and Torah study
  • Inspiring High Holy Day and Festival celebrations
  • Dynamic Jewish education for all ages
  • Meaningful social events and outreach
  • A commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world)

At Kol Ami, tradition meets modern life. Everyone – of all genders and backgrounds – is welcome to participate fully. We blend Hebrew and English in our services to create connection and meaning for all.

Come find your voice with us.

At Kol Ami, you’ll find the perfect balance – small enough to feel like family, yet full of opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.

We offer:

  • Adult education, from Jewish philosophy to current events and adult B’nai Mitzvah classes
  • A deep connection to Jewish peoplehood and Israel, with lifelong learning opportunities, including Torah and Talmud study, and classes taught by Rabbi Lori Cohen and guest teachers on diverse topics related to tradition, current events, and Israel.
  • Fun and festive programs, including talent shows, carnivals, ski trips, theatre nights, and more
  • Meaningful social action initiatives, with hands-on projects supporting local food banks, shelters, and those in need
