B’nai Mitzvah

Meaningful, Personal, Celebratory

At Kol Ami, becoming B’nai Mitzvah is more than a milestone – it’s a joyful, community-wide celebration of growth, learning, and Jewish identity.

Students are called to the Torah during our Shabbat morning service, leading meaningful parts of the service, chanting Torah and Haftarah, and sharing a thoughtful D’var Torah they’ve developed in partnership with our Rabbi.

Over the year leading up to their simcha, students work one-on-one with experienced tutors to build skills and confidence. The experience is designed to feel personal, empowering, and deeply connected to Jewish tradition.

B’nai Mitzvah is not an ending – many of our teens continue on as Madrichim (classroom leaders), in our TAKAY youth group, and through ongoing Jewish learning.
